Wycliffe’s World Day of Prayer is a global celebration of:
ThanksÂgivÂing — as we reÂmemÂber who God is and how He has done the seemÂingly imÂposÂsiÂble…again and again.
Joy — as we recÂogÂnize how God conÂtinÂues to open doors and hearts to acÂcomÂplish His mission.
DeÂpenÂdence — as we acÂknowlÂedge that all that we have and are is beÂcause of God.
God is sovÂerÂeign and almighty, yet He has inÂvited us to parÂticÂiÂpate with Him in his misÂsion. Prayer is an esÂsenÂtial facet of that parÂticÂiÂpaÂtion and keeps us rooted in our reÂlaÂtionÂship with Him.
There is a long traÂdiÂtion of Wycliffe staff, colÂleagues and loÂcal churches prayÂing toÂgether on beÂhalf of Bible transÂlaÂtion. Every day, around the world, peoÂple are prayÂing for the Bible transÂlaÂtion moveÂments, for the imÂpact of God’s Word on inÂdiÂvidÂuÂals and comÂmuÂniÂties, and for lanÂguage comÂmuÂniÂties who don’t yet have His Word. But one day a year, NoÂvemÂber 11, we make a speÂcial efÂfort to come toÂgether in prayer, united in hearts and minds in all our diÂverse conÂtexts and locations.
