Impact goals:

  • Revitalisation of Christian faith.

  • Revitalisation of Pasan and Bantik languages.

Manado is a creole spoken by all eight of the language groups in the Minahasa Peninsula, North Sulawesi. Pasan and Bantik are spoken by two of these groups.

They are traditionally animist, but at present they are 80% Christian. The largest denomination in the region was founded by German missionaries in the 19th century. The Christians often meet together, but many show little evidence of a living relationship with Christ.

This project aims to revitalise the Christian faith of these people groups through deep engagement with Bible stories. The local churches host and participate in many storytelling sessions and activities both during the story crafting workshops and between the workshops.
