  • Project start date: 2012

Goal:
  • Complete translation of the Old and New Testaments.

The Kala people originated in central Asia and migrated eastwards about 400 years ago. Some are subsistence farmers, but others run businesses and have become quite wealthy. The national language is the main language used outside the home, but Kala families still use their own language in the home.

Nearly all belong to a major religion, with only a handful of known Christians and no local church. The first known believer came to faith in 2006. This project aims to translate the entire Bible and share it with the Kala people.
