About The Event

Topic: Culture Clash

Speaker: Daniel Jesudason

Culture Clash is inevitable in all mission work across cultures. How we react, accept, and, eventually, adapt or adopt when faced with this clash of value systems will determine the fruit of our mission work. If we are not careful, attempts to be an ‘insider’ can cost us our sense of identity or sanity!

Come hear how Daniel Jesudason coped when he had to live & move among two tribal people groups in Papua New Guinea. If God’s wisdom gave them success in such an extreme culture clash, His wisdom will be more than sufficient in modern contexts too.

About the speaker:

Daniel, along with his wife and son, served in Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators from 1985 to 2005. They initially worked among the Umanakaina as literacy consultants. They then worked in literacy and bible translation among the Daga people. They completed the Daga New Testament and dedicated it on 18 June 2005.

Presently, Daniel is a Director at Promises (www.promises.com.sg) which provides psychiatric and psychological services for clients with mental health and addiction issues. Promises is also a training consultancy. During his spare time, Daniel continues to help with mission work in the Asia Pacific and serves in a number of local and regional mission agencies.
