The Bui ethnic group of Northern Thailand numbers about 10,000 people. The project began in 2011 with developing an alphabet for the Bui language and also crafting a set of oral Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments which have been uploaded in an app. The focus is now on written Bible translation and literacy.
The Bui project has been supported by Wycliffe Singapore’s R200 Programme since 2015.
About the speaker:
Greg and his wife, Rosie, have worked in Thailand since 2008, and with the Bui people since 2011. Their work has consisted of both oral and written Bible translation, and language development.
