Topic: The Bible Translator's Assistant—Tech Innovation for Minority Languages

Have a knack for learning languages? Love interpreting and explaining Scripture critically? Experienced in translation or trained in linguistics? Curious to see how tech accelerates Bible translation? Passionate for the last, the least, and the lost to come to know Jesus personally through the Word in their heart language?

Come hear how The Bible Translator's Assistant (TBTA)—a software system that is used to produce draft translations of Scripture—speeds up the process of Bible translation! Victor* and Linda* who are on the team working on TBTA will share the work they do and demonstrate how the programme works. They will also present opportunities for you to be a part of in TBTA.

About the speakers:

Victor and Linda are members of Wycliffe Singapore who are based in Canada. They have been working in the TBTA team which comprises about 25 people from Canada, the US, the UK, New Zealand, Singapore, the Philippines and, soon, Australia. They serve alongside a diverse team that is spread around the world and across multiple timezones.

  • The Zoom meeting will be opened from about half an hour before for participants to chill and chat
  • You will be required to turn on your video and display the name you signed up with when you log in to the session
