About The Event

Leading Bible Studies That Stick

— A Participatory Bible Study Workshop —

What’s on the Horizon?

Looking for fresh energy for your Bible studies? It’s time for a shift.

This interactive workshop introduces the Participatory Bible Study (PBS) method. You’ll learn to be a better facilitator who unlocks the group's potential. Whether you’re serving in a rural mission field with varying literacy levels or a fast-paced urban church, PBS uses community development tools to make Scripture engagement active, deep, and memorable.

Key Components of Effective Participatory Studies:

  • Active Facilitation: Lead as a guide, not a fountain of all knowledge.

  • Open-Ended Questions: Move beyond "yes/no" to spark genuine discovery.

  • Application Focus: Bridge the gap between ancient text and daily life through prayer and action.

Who Should Attend the Workshop?

  • Bible study leaders and Sunday School teachers seeking new inspiration.

  • Anyone who wants a more engaging way to learn.

  • Curious-minded individuals working with diverse groups (from teens to seniors).

Key Takeaways

Master the art of facilitation and empower your group to take ownership of their spiritual growth.

What past participants say:

  • "I never thought we could discover so many things in this passage!"

  • "Highly interactive—I learned so much from others’ observations."

  • "I felt engaged the whole time, not just passively listening."

  • “Using a tool helps us to focus on the passage itself.”

Speaker’s Profile

Pearle has served minority language communities through literacy and education programmes for 7 years before taking up a regional coordination role. Prior to that, her career experience and MA research centred on adult literacy and bilingual language development. Pearle enjoys traveling and exploring new places and cultures. Her current role has opened doors for her to meet and serve alongside people of various nationalities and cultures and see God’s amazing work in different places. Because she travels so often, her suitcase is never totally unpacked. She always makes sure she has some ground coffee or a few 3-in-1 coffee sachets and a thermos for her journey!
