About The Event
How to Communicate Across Cultures - A Missions for Everyone Workshop
Speaker: Daniel Jesudason
Join us as seasoned Bible translator and literacy specialist Daniel Jesudason teaches us how to pick up language learning skills effectively. He will share essential intercultural communication skills that will serve you well, as you seek to connect across cultures. He will also share how to communicate so that it isn't just a linguistic task, but rather, an avenue to help a person understand and be transformed by God's words in their heart language.
This workshop will be held on a Saturday morning on 12 Jul at the Wycliffe Singapore office at Harper Point, with light refreshments. We anticipate an engaging time with Daniel J and participants. We look forward to seeing you there! Sign up soon as space is limited.
About the speaker:
Daniel Jesudason served as Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea (1985–2005) with his wife, Wei Lei & son, Joshua. Daniel & Wei Lei pioneered literacy programs and worked on Scripture translation. They began their work among the Umanakaina people before shifting focus to the Daga community, completing the Daga New Testament, which was dedicated on 18 June 2005.
After this period of time, Daniel transitioned into pastoral leadership, serving as Missions Pastor at Community of Praise Baptist Church and Executive Director of HighPoint Community Services (2004–2011). He later entered the healthcare sector as Managing Director of Promises (a mental health and addiction treatment center) until 2023. Today, he serves as a part-time Missions Pastor at Solomon’s Porch Singapore and remains active in Asia-Pacific missions, supporting various agencies.
Wei Lei has been a Senior Social Worker in adoption services with Touch Community Services since 2004. Joshua, after an Oxford scholarship, now serves as an Officer in the Singapore Police Force.
